Airplane Tours: Niagara Air Tours from Niagara District Airport at 688-9000 Antiques: Forum Galleries, (5 minute drive) 468-2777. In Virgil (7 minute drive) Lakeshore Antiques. In Jordan there are 2 or 3 places on the Main Street. Art Galleries: Viewing at the Riverbrink Gallery in Queenston (262-4510, Wed.-Sat. 11-5, Sun. 1-5); The Pumphouse, 247 Ricardo (468-5455, Fri.-Sun. 1-4), Albright-Knox in Buffalo (716-882-8700, Tues.-Sat, 11-5, Sun., 12-5). Buy at Angie Strauss (468-2255) or Trisha Romance (468-4431). Bicycle and Scooter Rental & Tours: Zoom Leisure (1-866-811-6993) offers bicycle tours and rentals from April through October. We also have 4 bikes that we can lend you. Or try eSkoot Niagara (289-271-0663) offering scooter rentals from April 15 until November 15. Butterfly Conservatory: On the Parkway between Queenston & Niagara Falls. Carriage Rides: Sentineal Carriages at 468-4943. Leave from Prince of Wales or arrange pick up at Lakewinds. Casino Niagara: Open 24 hours per day in Niagara Falls. Shuttles 3 times a day from Fort George. Dining (Light)-Our Favourites: Olde Winery (5 minute drive, 468-8900), Epicurean for lunch (7 minute walk) Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Clubhouse (7 minute walk), Queen's Landing Bar (15 minute walk). Dining (Fine)-Our Favourites: (There are sample menus in the basket in the front entrance). In town, the Stone Road Grille (3 minute drive, 468-3474), Tony deLuca's at the Oban Inn (7 minute walk, 468-7900),The Grill at the Epicurean (7 minute walk, 468-0288), Hillebrand Vineyard Café (8 minute drive, 468-7123); Il Giardino at the Gate House Hotel (5 minute walk, 468-3263), and Peller Estates (5 minute drive, 468-4678) are very good. In St. Catharines, we feel the best value in the area can be found at Wellington Court (about 20 minute drive, 682-5518). Treadwell Farm to Table Cuisine in Port Dalhousie is well worth the drive (about 20 minute drive, 934-9797). Fishing-Let a professional guide from Natural Wonders Angling Adventures help you catch salmon, trout, bass, walleye and maybe even muskie! Floral Events: We have known Cathy at Cathy Martin Flowers for many years and we highly recommend her services (she did our daughter's wedding!) Fort George: Open April 1st until late fall. Golf: Niagara-on-the-Lake (468-3271)- Across the street, semi-private, the oldest course in North America, 9 holes. Whirlpool (20 minute drive, 356-1140), 18 holes, semi-private; Peninsula Lakes (40 minute drive, 892-8844) 27 holes, semi-private, LochNess links(30 minute drive, 714-4659) 18 holes, Legends at the Niagara (30 minute drive, 295-9595, 1-866-465-3642) 45 holes, Grand Niagara (30 minute drive, 384-4653). Horseback Trail Rides - Niagara Riding Stables offers escarpment trail rides at 262-5101. Jet Boats: Whirlpool Jet Boats are wildly exciting, but you will get wet. (468-4800). Limos: Niagara Concours Group offers a variety of great limos. (1-866-324-5466) Massage: See Spas below or Chair Massage and/or Reflexology treatments can be prearranged here at Lakewinds with Jody (468-5815) Music: Summer music festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Music Niagara features outstanding music in standout settings; over 30 concerts from mid-July until mid-August with internationally renowned musicians: classical, jazz, and more. Intimate, stunning venues – from historic churches to wine cellars. Tickets: $15-$45.
Shaw Festival: World-famous, plays from mid-April until the end of November. We love the Shaw and think it is terrific theatre. (468-2153 or 1-800-511-7429). Walks: Old Town Tours offers an historic walk through the Old Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Niagara Glen and Balls Falls are two excellent nature walks. Bird-watching all along the Niagara Parkway. Wonderful gardens everywhere! Wine Tours: All wineries offer free guided tours. Crush on Niagara Wine Tours (562-3373), offers escorted wine tours in nice vans. Niagara Classic Cabs have a cheap and cheerful wine tour, 905-262-0005. Zoom Leisure (1-866-811-6993) offers bicycle tours and rentals from April through October. Stretch limos are available from 5-0 Luxury Limos (1-800-268-7429) or Premier Limos (682-7492).
